Who can hire the darkroom?
If you have previous experience within a darkroom, or have attended one of my darkroom based workshops then you can hire the darkroom without tuition. Your booking is exclusive to you.​

There are just a couple of rules:
-You must attend a 20 minute induction
-You must be able to evidence prior experience within a darkroom

Once you've booked I will send a confirmation email which will include a PDF detailing:
-how to gain access
-setting up & closing down
-fire exits for the building
-emergency contact information

Additional costs may incur for large quantities of film developing to cover the additional costs of chemical usage & negative sleeves.

Your booking will gain you exclusive hire of the darkroom. If you are booking as a group, each group member must have darkroom experience. I currently do not offer the darkroom hire as a teaching space. For tuition, please see me 1:1 workshop listings.

What's included?
Please note: Darkroom paper IS NOT included due to the nature of darkroom printing- but can be bought locally from Canterbury Camera Centre

The darkroom is supplied with:
-
4 enlargers [ 3 suitable for medium format and 35mm printing & 1 suitable for 35mm only ]
-
1 paper dryer suitable for resin coated papers
-
Traditional paper & film chemicals
-
35mm/120 negative sleeves [additional costs may incur for excessive use]
-
Various size trays, tongs, changing bag, developing tanks, measuring cylinders, lupe, focus finders & other photographic items.

Upon request:

Epson scanner suitable for 35mm, slide & 120 negatives. This is my personal home scanner so a request is necessary.

Cyanotype chemicals (additional cost)

All equipment must remain onsite unless discussed otherwise. An inventory is made before and after your booking.
